Inspectors who work from a phone and need opened inspections to stay on the device, on one monthly price.
What it does well
- Solo is $49.00 a month for one inspector and one admin. Team is $149.00 a month for three inspectors and unlimited admins.
- The free plan is one inspector and one template, with unlimited inspections.
- Inspections are unlimited on every plan, Free included. Publishing and sharing reports is not metered by plan.
- On the phone, photos and video can be captured, and photos annotated on Android and iOS. Voice notes are recorded on the device.
- Opened inspections stay on the phone, and changes to them are queued for sending.
- New customers get a seven-day free trial on Solo and Team. Checkout collects a payment method, and the first charge falls when the trial ends.
- Sign in with a passwordless email code, Google or Apple.
Where it is weaker
- Templates cannot be imported or exported, and they have no versioning.
- Clients are free-text fields on an inspection, and there is no client database.
- Client agreements, signatures and client payments are not offered.
- Reports carry no website.
- On the phone, creating an inspection and opening a report need a connection.
- Queued changes send only while the app is open; the phone app will not publish an inspection while its changes are waiting to send or have failed, and failed changes stay on the device until retried or discarded.
- There is no Windows app. The phone app runs on Android and iOS, and the web app runs in any browser.

Inspectors who bill per job, or who want a cloud back office with agreements, invoices, payments and client booking.
What it does well
- Pay as You Go is $7.50 per job, sold in blocks of 20 for $150, with no monthly or extra sign-up fees.
- The Unlimited plan is $90 a month. Inspection Team is $90 a month plus $45 per inspector.
- There are no long-term contracts, and plans can be switched at any time.
- Autopilot, the cloud-based back office, handles agreements, invoices, messaging and collecting payments.
- Clients can book inspections online with the Autopilot Web Scheduler.
- Reports can be completed offline, then shared and synced once back online.
- A company logo and attachments can be uploaded to personalize the report pickup page.
- The free trial covers your first five home inspections.
Where it is weaker
- Tap Inspect works best with an internet connection.
- The iPhone and iPad app requires iOS 17 or later.
- A shared report downloads as a PDF from the web account.
- After the Unlimited or Team plan is cancelled, the account and its shared reports stay reachable, but new reports cannot be published or shared, and old ones cannot be updated.
- Deleting the account is permanent and removes all account data, including reports and contacts.
