Utah home inspector license
Utah's Division of Professional Licensing requires private home inspectors to hold a current certification from one of three national bodies and $500,000 each of liability and errors and omissions insurance.

- Classes
- Combination, limited, and private home inspector. This page covers the private home inspector.
- Certification
- As of June 30, 2026, one or more current certifications from the American Society of Home Inspectors, the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, or the International Code Council's Residential Combination Inspector.
- Insurance
- Liability insurance of $500,000 and errors and omissions insurance of $500,000, each naming the Division as certificate holder.
- Application
- Submit the application in the form the Division prescribes, and pay the fee. The Division makes the Private Home Inspector application available from May 1, 2026.
- Renewal
- Every two years.
