North Dakota home inspectors register with the Secretary of State, and anyone who performs a home inspection for compensation must be registered.

Who registers
The North Dakota Secretary of State.
Who must register
Anyone who performs a home inspection for compensation. Code enforcement officials acting within their employment, people licensed, certified or registered under Title 43 when acting within their profession, and insurance adjusters acting within their engagement are exempt.
Registration
Be at least 18 years old. Submit the registration form, proof of passing an exam offered by the American Society of Home Inspectors, InterNACHI, the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors, or the International Code Council, proof of current errors and omissions insurance of $100,000 or more covering all home inspection activities, and the $200 fee.
Renewal
Registrations expire June 30. A renewal must reach the Secretary of State before July 1, with a $50 fee and a current insurance certificate. A registration not renewed on time is cancelled without notice, and you must then file an initial application.
Education and continuing education
The chapter and the Secretary of State's page set no education, field experience or continuing education requirement.
Out-of-state applicants
Any inspector who performs a home inspection for compensation in North Dakota must register. The chapter gives no separate route for a registrant from another state.
