# Inspection Templates

Start a template from scratch or copy one, then add its sections, areas and items.

In the menu: **Library** › **Inspection Templates**

To start from scratch:

1. Click **Create Template**.
2. Under **Create From**, click **Start from scratch**.
3. Enter a **Template Name**.
4. Select one or more **Property Types**. To add one, click **+ New**, enter its name, and click **Create**.
5. Check the **Report Title**. It starts as Home Inspection Report. Change it if your reports need another title.
6. Click **Create**.
7. Click the template’s card to open it.
8. Click **Add Section**. Enter a **Section Name**. Click **Create**.
9. Click the section’s name to open its areas.
10. Click **Add Area**. Enter an **Area Name**. Click **Create**.
11. Click the area’s name to open its items.
12. Click **Add Items**. Choose the items you want from your library. Click **Save Items**.

To start from a template:

1. Click **Create Template**.
2. Under **Create From**, click **Start from template**.
3. Under **Select Template to Copy**, choose a template.
4. Click **Create**.

A copy has the same sections, areas, items and property types as the original. Its name is marked as a copy. To rename it, click **Edit template** on the template’s page.

A template’s card shows **Incomplete** until the template has a section and an area.
